An Open Letter To Jimmy Fallon From The Quidditch Community
Jimmy recently poked a bit of fun at the Quidditch community on his show, and in response, I’d like to personally invite him to come try the sport out with the VCU team.
Help us get Jimmy to see this video and let him know that Quidditch is serious business!

With a week left to go with Wizengamot Quidditch of VCU’s indiegogo fundraiser to World Cup VI, I’ll be offering Dynamic Quidditch Sketches with any donation of $20 or more. If you get this perk, you can send a photo of yourself (or someone else) and I will draw you (or that someone else) in a dynamic portrait with your house color of choice. All you have to do is specify in the comments on Indiegogo that you want this perk if you donate $20 or more.
Tonight, everyone on our competition team for World Cup VI received a high-res, personalized chocolate frog card from Shelby, one of our chasers (and my Quidditch-daughter!) This is, by far, the coolest Quid-gift I’ve ever received! THANK YOU SO MUCH SHELBY!
Donate $25 to the Wizengamot WCVI Indiegogo, and you too could receive a personalized one of these, as well as a ton of other awesome prizes!

Playing Quidditch Since: Fall 2011 Why did you join Wizengamot? OriginallyI wanted to thrive in a sport that simultaneously embraced my limitations and challenged me. Not only was this phenomenal group of quidkids already awesome, but they welcomed me with open arms. I’d never experienced family like that before. From the moment I first stepped on the field, I knew I was finally home. Favorite game: Tie between VCU/Rochester @ WCV and VCU/VT last year. Both were some of Wizengamot’s finest showings to date, not to mention being ridiculously fun games to play in. Worst Quinjury: I chipped a tooth once in practice, as well as several scrapes. In fact, a Wizengamot practice isn’t technically over until I’ve shed blood in some capacity. I’ve never broken any bones before, but that’s nothing a bottle of Skele-Grow couldn’t fix! Fun Fact: My middle name rhymes with my last (Dale). Also, I once ate bull-testicle pizza and loved it! Favorite Quidditch Moment: Too many come to mind. Any moment on the field totally rules, but, in particular, storming the field with Wizengamot after our OT Rochester win, and mudsliding post-River City Invitational 2011. Nothing compares to a good ol’ fashioned mudslide! What are you most excited for (in terms of Quidditch)? The future of Quidditch itself. Watching the sport take on a new persona through the IQA and overall awareness. It’s been amazing to see how such a novel idea has already taken the world by storm. I truly can’t wait until the day that professional Quidditch is indeed a thing that I can proudly watch on TV, knowing that I was fortunate enough to be able to be part of it.
ROE V. WADE 40th Anniversary Events above^ and Rally below.
Join Virginia’s Pro-Choice Coalition — including Virginia NOW, Virginia Affiliates of Planned Parenthood, the ACLU of Virginia, Progress VA, Unite Women-VA, the League of Women Voters, and NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia — on the 40th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade as we rally to protect choice in our state!
Over the past several years, we have watched Virginia’s anti-choice lawmakers attack reproductive rights, restrict access to essential medical care, and threaten the ability of Virginia women to control their own bodies. We’ve seen it all: a trans-vaginal ultrasound bill, attacks on birth control, outright abortion bans and attempts to enact dangerous “personhood” legislation. Now, we’re fighting back.

An Introduction To House Shows: Live From The Gene Pool’s Happenstance Halloween
Presented by The Horn RVA.
My friends put together this awesome collaboration with some of the best of RVA’s local scene. Watching this video, I’m blown away by both the production value and the spirit they captured. It’s a true testament to the DIY ethos, and a direct reflection of what makes Richmond’s local music scene so great.
If you watch one video today, let it be this. Spend five minutes on a solid piece of art.
Don’t miss Wizengamot Quidditch of VCU’s LAST HOME MATCH OF THE SEASON against CNU Captains of Crucio!
After a blazing stint at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship in Roanoke two weekends ago (in which VCU officially secured a bid to WORLD CUP VI in Florida this spring!), Wizengamot will be rounding out their season with a blistering Saturday match at home.
This Saturday. 12PM. Petronius Park (1400 Idlewood). Bring your cronies. Dust off your wands. Pack the house and show CNU that YOU DON’T GO TO WAR WITH THE RAMS!
Shane’s editorial about VCU’s recent string of criminal activity is easily one of the most level-headed, concise opinions out there right now. Though I’m already a fan of his bi-weekly column, today’s edition absolutely blew me out of the water.
“Nothing I say will comfort students, current or prospective. Nothing the police can do, short of forming a police state around the campus, will absolutely prevent us from being vulnerable to crime. No amount of money VCU pours into security will keep us safe from the blunt nature of life.”
