Day 07 → Someone who has made your life worth living for.

No, I’m not going to do this one in a letter, because Lord knows we’ve covered THAT medium enough already.
And yeah, maybe those select few of you who understand this will claim that this is a cliche answer. I’m not going to shoot you down, or say you’re wrong, or really do anything. The answer is as simple, and complicated, as the question.
You pulled me out and put me back on track, whether you realize it or not. After being beaten down and out for the count for such a long time, all it took was a realization, a few looks, some kind words and some mutual feelings for us to realize that this was more than just a friendship. This had been building in a big way, for a long time. When it hit, I don’t think anyone was expecting it, least of all me.
I won’t cash in and sell out by saying that I live for you, but I’ll be damned to Hell and back if I’m going to live without you.
Your kindness, in both ways visible and not, continues to astound me. You inspire me to become a better person all the time. To me, you’re the one keeping the fire going, making it all worth it, the good, the bad and the straight up dag-nasty. Even at my lowest ebbs, you’re always there. You never judge, you never cut me down. You give me the push I need when I need it most. People spend lifetimes looking for such a companion, platonic or otherwise. I just seem to have gotten lucky and received the best of both worlds.
Because every day, when I wake up, I get the warmth and security of knowing that I fell in love with my best friend.
Because you’ve always been there, and I truly think that’s what matters most.
Because I’ll always be there. Because you are, first and foremost, my very best friend, and I trust you with my life.
Because you’ve shown me something that I couldn’t have found anywhere else, even if I wanted to.
Because you’ve given me back the drive to keep going, to live out my ideals, to move forward.
Because you’ve shown me what love really means.
You make my world shine.
